Ellie Jane Goulding born 30th December, 1986 in Hereford England. Tracey Goulding Summers worked as a grocery clerk, and Arthur Goulding, the father of Ellie Jane Goulding worked as an undertaker. Goulding is the child of two and is a sister named Alex and a sister who is older named Isabel as well as a sister called Jordan. Alex her younger brother plays on the Bass. Alex also is part of a Hereford-based band. As a girl, her mother encouraged the young woman to pursue a career in the instrument. When she was nine years old, she started taking classes in clarinet. When she was 14 she started writing songs. However, she did not begin pursuing songwriting until her college time. Goulding was able to establish an interest in electronic music while studying. By using MySpace She was able to reach Frankmusik which helped in the creation of her folktronica. Jamie Lillywhite noticed her and became her manager. In the following years, he was asked to take charge of A.&R during a talent show. Lillywhite then introduced her to music producer Starsmith who assisted her to publish her debut song under the Sheets on November 15th, 2009. Starsmith collaborated with the singer on Lights. Despite the fact that they released Under the Sheets under the label of indie Neon Gold Records she was already contracted to Polydor Records.
